Decathlon Greece is looking for a structured and analytical Accounting Specialist to ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our financial operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in monthly closings, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, and process optimization . Serving as a trusted finance partner, you will bridge accounting data with business operations while supporting statutory and Group standards (IFRS/Greek norms).
Ensure Reliable Accounting
Record, control and report transactions in the area of responsibility
Ensure communication, documentation and risk mitigating actions to support audits.
Manage balance sheet reconciliations of allocated accounts, explain variations and ensure timely resolution.
Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings and financial statements validation
Take on and oversee special accounting topics according to Greek standards and/or IFRS
Improve Processes & Drive Finance Transformation
Actively design, document and communicate internal processes in the area of responsibility to stakeholders
Contribute to constant improvement of the processes in the area of responsibility (efficiency)
Lead finance transformation initiatives by supporting the digitalization of workflows, the implementation of new digital tools and the mutualization of accounting activities to improve team efficiency and scalable operations.
Be an Accounting Value Partner
Provide financial insights and alerts for business risks (fraud, compliance) and associated mitigating controls
Professional fluency in Greek and English.
5 years of experience in accounting (retail/FMCG background highly preferred).
Strong knowledge of Greek GAAP, local tax law, and IFRS standards.
